LONDON (AFX) - Timber distribution company James Latham PLC said sales in the first four months of the current year are slightly higher than last year on a like-for-like basis, with margins in the April-July period also showing a small improvement.

In the text of a statement prepared for its AGM, the group said trading is currently on target to meet market expectations.

The group's interim results to the end of September will be announced at the end of November.
