Lathams Sent to the Tower
|
|
The UK’s leading timber and panel products distributor, James Latham, has provided materials for a unique development at the Tower Bridge.
Contrax Furniture Ltd, a regular customer of Lathams, worked with bere:architects to manufacture and install the reception desk in the new ticket office at Tower Bridge, London.
Lathams supplied the company with 6 sheets of LG HI-MACS® and thermo-formed several sheets to create the over-rider surface. The colour, Santa Ana, was chosen to match the existing tones of the building.
Oxford-based Contrax offers bespoke solutions for commercial and residential commissions. It has been established for 19 years and is a loyal customer, with co-owner, Chris Baldwin, having previously worked at James Latham. Pat Atkins, sales representative at Latham’s Hemel Hempstead depot, often supplies Contrax with LG HI-MACS®, mdf, melamine faced chipboard and specialist laminates.
Chris commented: "This was a particularly challenging project but we are very pleased with the end result. Although we often use the product, it was the first time we have thermo-formed LG HI-MACS®, and it worked very well on the reception counter. Lathams is always very helpful when providing us with materials, and we knew that we could count on them to deliver for us this time."
