One of the country’s best loved home improvement celebrities, Tommy Walsh, has just completed the finishing touches to his impressive 19th Century home in East London, with a little help from the UK’s leading timber and panel products distributor, James Latham.
Lathams’ Purfleet depot supplied Tommy with a quantity of European Oak which he used to build an outstanding ‘barrel formation’ staircase which begins on the ground floor with a ‘monkey’s tail’ before stretching up over five storeys, incorporating continual turns and rises.
In addition, Tommy also specified 90m² of rustic Oak flooring incorporating a unique Wenge ‘black’ inlay which he has used throughout the hallway, first floor lounge area and kitchen, giving a truly dramatic effect.
Tommy commented: "I am delighted with the way the staircase and floor has turned out. The quality of the timber was first class and it has become a real focal point of the property. The flooring is the first thing you see when you walk through the front door so it was absolutely critical that is created the right impact".
"Lathams is well known to me and has a fantastic reputation. I have used the company for years, since the days of running my own construction business, and have always found them to deliver excellent service", he added.
