Lathams Goes Global at Tate Modern

Tate ModernThe UK’s leading timber and panel products distributor, James Latham, was delighted to be able to support the Tate Modern in its Global Cities exhibition.

Lathams generously supplied the gallery with PEFC certified UPM-Kymmene Wisa-Spruce plywood free of charge, to be used for the construction of density models of the ten various cities featured at the exhibition.

The Global Cities exhibition delves in to 10 cities, including Cairo, Istanbul, London, Mexico City and Mumbai, demonstrating a variety of interpretations of urban life in the cities by exploring each city’s speed, density, diversity, size and form.

Peter Latham visited the Global Cities show and commented: "I was extremely impressed with the final creations, they looked truly magnificent. Lathams is proud to have been able to offer support for an integral part of the exhibition and be involved in an exciting way to showcase Latham products in an innovative way".

PEFC certified UPM-Kymmene Wisa-Spruce plywood is high quality, lightweight softwood sourced from sustained forests. Wisa-Spruce is ideally suited to flooring, wall sheathing and roofing, and is the perfect wood solution for building film and stage sets.
