After months of planning and a great deal of hard work, James Latham is proud to confirm that it is to reach over the border and open a 40,000ft² distribution centre in Scotland.
The purpose-built site at Eurocentral in Lanarkshire is scheduled to open its doors in April and will offer an extensive range of products including veneered MDF, MFC, Birch and Spruce plywood. The highly popular LG HI-MACS will also be available as well as Finesse veneered MDF board, Flamebreak door blanks, Bausen flooring and hardwood decking. In addition, the full range of solid hardwoods including Oak, Black Walnut and Maple, along with red hardwoods such as Sapele, Majau and Utile, will be readily available from stock, many of which will be available with FSC certification.
The new site will mean that Lathams, which already has an enviable reputation in Scotland, will now be able to service existing, as well as new accounts far more efficiently. Plus they will also offer daily deliveries, a collection facility and orders will be processed far quicker.
David Landsburgh, who will head up the new operation commented: "In 2007 James Latham celebrated it's 250th year in business, a proud boast in any industry. It is a highly respected brand both here in Scotland as well as south of the border and the decision to open the first site outside England here in Lanarkshire reflects just how important this market is to us. We are ideally situated just off the M8, which give us great access to key areas in Scotland."
