Speeding Ahead with Bespoke Moke

Mini MokeMichael Stephenson, a furniture designer with a passion for cars, has proudly rolled out his second bespoke Mini Moke using wood supplied by the UK’s leading Timber and Panel products distributor, James Latham.

Following the first solid oak version, Michael of Herrington Gate Furniture has surpassed even his own expectations with this stunning walnut and titanium car. Constantly working to perfect his designs, the latest model boasts features such as a hi-fi complete with ipod docking station, blue tooth and an entirely handbuilt interior, finished with a silver grey suede trim. Additionally, the engine has been completely rebuilt and now includes twin carburetors.

The Herrington Gate plan is to build two further prototype Mokes in the next 18 months using a variety of timbers and completing to the highest of specification.

Michael continued: "Lathams has supplied us with the very best in timber materials and we now plan to roll out Moke production to the continental and American market. Once we feel that we have perfected every detail, we hope to produce limited edition Mini Mokes with a starting price of around £40,000."
